Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of SPAR Sector ("the game"), operated by Marin Ventures Inc. ("MVI", "we", "us"). By playing, buying, or gifting game tokens, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the game.

1. The service

SPAR Sector is a turn-based, multiplayer sci-fi trading game played through Discord (and optionally through compatible AI clients). It is provided for entertainment.

2. Your account

You access the game using your Discord account and you are responsible for activity under it. You must meet Discord's minimum age requirement and follow Discord's own Terms of Service.

3. Game tokens

  • A game token is a limited, revocable license to take a seat in a game session. One token = one seat.
  • Tokens have no monetary value, are not currency, a deposit, a security, or a stored-value instrument, and are not redeemable for cash.
  • Tokens do not expire.
  • Tokens may be transferred only through the in-game gifting feature. Gifts are final and cannot be reversed.
  • Reselling tokens, or buying/selling them outside the game, is not permitted.

4. In-game currency

The in-game currency (Solari / SOL) and all in-game items exist only inside the game, have no real-world value, and are never purchasable with real money. Real money buys game access (tokens) only.

5. Payments

Token packs are sold through Stripe. Prices are shown at checkout and the buyer covers the payment-processing fee. By purchasing, you authorize the charge shown.

6. Refunds

Tokens are a digital product. If you need a refund, please contact the host/owner directly and we will work it out - that is faster and easier than disputing with your bank. If a purchase is refunded, any unspent tokens from that purchase are reversed; tokens already spent on game seats cannot be reversed. Please do not initiate a chargeback before contacting us.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • cheat, exploit bugs for unfair advantage, or use unauthorized automation/bots beyond the game's own supported AI-client features;
  • harass, abuse, or harm other players;
  • attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours;
  • resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit tokens or the game;
  • interfere with or disrupt the game's infrastructure.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations.

8. Availability and changes

The game is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the game, including running games to a defined end. Game worlds are periodically reset.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the game is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MVI's total liability arising from your use of the game is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of in-game progress, tokens, or items.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes are reflected by the "Last updated" date above; continued use after a change means you accept it.
