Privacy Policy

SPAR Sector ("the game", "we", "us") is operated by Marin Ventures Inc. ("MVI"). We built SPAR Sector to collect as little about you as possible. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and what your choices are.

1. What we collect

We deliberately do not collect your name, email address, mailing address, or phone number. What we do hold:

  • Your Discord account identifier and username. When you sign in with Discord to buy tokens, we request only the identify scope. That gives us your public Discord user id and handle - nothing else (no email, no friends list, no messages).
  • Game state. Your in-game progress, ships, assets, balances, and token ledger, all keyed to your Discord id.
  • Token purchase records. For each purchase we store the pack size, amount, timestamp, and the Stripe session/payment reference. We never see or store your card number, CVV, or bank details.

2. Payments

All card payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. Your card data goes directly to Stripe and is never transmitted to or stored by us. Stripe's handling of your payment information is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.

3. Cookies

We use a single, short-lived, security-only cookie during checkout: a one-time anti-forgery (CSRF) token tied to your sign-in attempt. It is HttpOnly, expires within minutes, and is deleted after checkout. We do not use advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies.

4. Who we share with

We share data only with the service providers needed to run the game:

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone, ever.

5. Why we hold it

To create and run your game, grant the access you paid for, process and reconcile payments, prevent fraud and abuse, and respond to support requests.

6. How long we keep it

Game and token records are kept while your account/game is active and for a reasonable period afterward for accounting and fraud-prevention. You can ask us to delete your data (see Your rights).

7. Your rights

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and similar laws, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the limited data we hold, and you may withdraw consent. Contact us and we will respond. Note that some records (e.g. completed payment references) may be retained where required for legal or accounting reasons.

8. Children

SPAR Sector is not directed at children under 13, and you must meet Discord's minimum age requirement to use it. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
